Oh technology…

I’m sitting here frustrated as I am trying to upload these amazing photos from my adventures in NY last night but it’s looking like that will have to wait until Monday!!

So instead I’m going to pass along a story I read that I really liked. These days a high price is put on always being slender and perfect, sometimes it’s subtle but sometimes is very straight in your face. I love the way this woman handled this situation!!

‘A while back, at the entrance of a gym, there was a poster of a very thin and beautiful woman. The caption was “This summer, do you want to be a mermaid or a whale.”

The woman sent the gym this letter in response.
“Dear People,
Wales are always surrounded by friends (dolphins, seals, curious humans), they are sexually active and raise their children with great tenderness. They entertain like crazy with dolphins and eat a lot of prawns. Try swim all day and travel to fantastic places like Patagonia, the Barents Sea or the coral reefs of Polynesia. They sing incredibly well and sometimes are even on CDs. They are impressive and dearly loved animals, which everyone defends and admires.

Mermaids do not exist.

But if they existed, they would line up to see a psychologist because of the problem of split personality: fish or woman? They would have no sex life and could bear no children. Yes, they would be lovely, but lonely and sad. And, who wants a girl that mulls like fish by his side.

Without a doubt, I’d rather be a whale.

At a time when the media tells us that only thin is beautiful, I prefer to at ice cream with my kids, to have dinner with my husband, to eat and drink and have fun with my friends.

We women, we gain weight because we accumulate so much wisdom an knowledge there isn’t enough space in our heads, and it spreads out all over our bodies.
We’re not fat, we are greatly cultivated. Every time I see my curves in the mirror, I tell myself: “How amazing am I?!”

Now THAT’S what I’m talking about! Be proud of yourself! And also, as women, alerts be proud of other women as well. Lets stop breaking each other down and start building each other up! As women, we are amazing. Imagine if instead of always breaking each other down we did the opposite? Think how what a powerful unit we could be!!

Okay, that’s all for today loves.
