We Can Dance If We Want To

I admit it…

I have an un-natural obsession with the “Safety Dance” song.

I don’t know how to explain it, or for how long I’ve had it. All I know is, I love it.

I also love movies…especially movies with DANCE SEQUENCES!!! So can you IMAGINE how happy I was when I found this video of dance sequences from 77 different movies SYNCED UP WITH SAFETY DANCE!!!???!?!?!?!

Heaven; guys….I WAS IN HEAVEN!!!

Arrested Development

I can’t believe it took me SOOOOOO long to get around to getting hooked on Arrested Development. I guess I kept putting it off because I know in hindsight that it was unexpectedly cancelled and I know I don’t do well with shows that don’t end well. But I love that they brought it back, AND they debuted the entire season. LOVE IT!!

Motherfuckin Lavender Lemonade

So after spending the weekend at the lake kicking off summer today was our day to catch up on errands and do some ACTUAL relaxing.

As a kid, weekends and vacations seemed so amazing and simple. But as an adult you realize how non relaxing they really are.

So today I decided to pick up the ingredients to make a delicious relaxing cocktail, thanks to Thug Kitchen.

Five simple fucking ingredients in this bitch right here. This is some good shit to make when you are feeling bougie as fuck. High-fructose corn syrup? Naw son, I don’t play that. Hit this with some vodka though, different story. Max relax.

LAVENDER LEMONADE

5 cups of water

1/2 -3/4 cup sugar (yeah, it is fucking lemonade. without the sugar it is just real sour fucking water)

 3/4 cup Meyer lemon juice, about 6 lemons ​(you can just use the regular lemons at the store too, not a dealbreaker)

juice of half a lime​

4 sprigs of fresh lavender​

Bring the water to a boil in a medium pot. Add the sugar and simmer that shit on a low heat for about 5 minutes. Make sure to stir it on the regular. The sugar should be all dissolved in the water by now with no little fucking grains rolling around in there. Turn off the heat and stir in the lemon juice, lime juice, and lavender. Let it cool until it is around room temperature. Take the lavender pieces out but use a fucking spoon and not your fingers if you are going to serve that shit to other people. Put the lemonade in the fridge to cool down all the way. Serve with lemon wedges and a pinch of dried lavender if you want it to look fucking impressive.

I also stumbled on something cool while I was researching where to find “fresh lavender sprigs”. (Answer: I bought a couple plants at my local plant nursery. New question: is it called a “plant nursery”? Or just a nursery? I feel like just saying nursery makes it sound like a store full of babies.)

I found Local Harvest. A site where you can input your location and it will show you all where you can find all of the best local organic ingredients :] So yum!

Ohhhhh Shinnnnyyyyy!!

I’ve made no attempts to hide my very obvious over obsession with everything Great Gatsby at the moment, and luckily I’m not alone which is great for feeding my fanaticism :]

Today I finally got around to checking out Tiffany and Co.‘s “Jazz Age” collection with pieces made for or representing the movie.

Sadly, I don’t have the disposable income for…well…ANY of these pieces but they sure are gorgeous to look at!! I made sure to take screenshots so you could see the prices!! Sheesh!! Tho if I had $200,000 dollars to blow on a head-piece you could fucking bet it would be that one!!!

Also, I stumbled upon this quote today that I just adored!!
